A dedicated Performance Improvement function at Antin was created in 2015, while active value creation has been a key element of Antin’s approach since the inception of the firm. Therefore, Antin was one of the forerunners and is a leader today among infrastructure investors in applying an approach similar to private equity. Currently eleven professionals are dedicated to Performance Improvement.

Antin expects the data science intern to assist in the identification and realization of data enabled opportunities to develop portfolio companies further. Topics will be divers, ranging from sales growth, processes optimization, to core business specific areas. Topics will also be across different companies and infrastructure sectors.

Candidates should be able to quickly understand businesses and related issues. Excellent skills in data science methods and tools are just the required basics. We are looking for creative, independent, pragmatic and target driven usage of data science to answers key business questions.

Our streamlined organisation offers interns the opportunity to be fully part of the team, assume responsibilities and work closely with senior managers of the firm. The intern will be integrated into and coached by the Performance Improvement team, which is part of the investment team.

This internship will be a unique experience to apply data science to high-impact business topics.

Responsibilities for the role

• Interact with the Antin data science team to support investment professionals and portfolio company managers in understanding business questions
• In cooperation with other Antin team members, define approaches to address these business questions. Data science methods and tools should be proposed by the intern.
• Apply data science methods and tools
• Assess results, including reliability, data limitations, and potential replicability or automation
• Contribute to the development of recommendations
• Participate in drafting presentation materials and memos for both internal and external purposes
• Support in automating and improving relevant internal business solutions

• Flexible starting date from April 2025 onwards
• Internship length of 6 months
• Hybrid working from our Paris office

Knowledge and Skills Required

Experience required: being a student in a master program combining data science and business courses (e.g. X-HEC – MSc in Data Science & AI for business, Centrale-Essec – Master in Data Science & Business Analytics, or an equivalent program). A previous experience in strategy consulting, investment banking or investment funds is highly valued.

Skills: applicants are expected to demonstrate:

• Proficiency in Python and ML-oriented libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, statsmodels)
• Familiarity with SQL queries for data analysis
• Familiarity with at least one dashboarding tool (e.g. PowerBI, tableau)
• Strong mathematical foundations, especially in statistics (e.g. p-values / statistical significance, model performance metrics)
• Experience using MS Azure is not required but preferred
• Acute business acumen
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency in Excel / PowerPoint / Word
• Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
• Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit and able to work independently
• Fluency in English, fluency in French is not required but preferred
